Imperfectly Done

Discover productivity on your own terms

Many of us struggle to do what lights us up because we spend too much energy doing the things that don't.

You have a vision.

You want to make a contribution.

You know your work can make a huge difference to others.

And yet there are so many other things you need to do before you can spend time in your Zone of Genius.

You procrastinate because there’s so much to do, you don’t know an easier way to do it, and what brings you the most joy isn’t rewarded.

You often feel frustrated, exhausted, and full of shame. You may even beat yourself up for not having the energy to make meaningful progress on the things that matter to you and regularly feeling defeated, deflated, and depleted.

You may be:

A Mystic and unsure if people will understand the new and emergent work you provide or how to navigate the existing marketing systems

A Maker who simply wants to focus on making good work that delights people rather than spending an equal or greater amount of time selling or promoting it

A Maverick for whom the existing systems and structures don’t work, needing your own unique path so that you can share your gifts with greater authenticity

Understand where your unique value is and how to realise it

What if you could create systems and find ways of working that are easy, meaningful, and fun?

Easy: Straightforward ways to do what needs to be done so that you’re more free to do what you love

Meaningful: Using your energy in service of the difference you want to make, and the values you hold dear

Fun: Enjoyable ways to unlock greater experimentation and creativity and build your inner and outer resources

Imagine the difference it could make to your well-being, energy levels, business, and impact if you focused on

  • Discovering what lights you up

  • Doing more of the things that light you up

  • Doing less of the other things

The technical barrier

What’s the right tool? What’s the right platform? How do you do what everyone else finds so easy but you find complicated and confusing?

There are a wealth of options, but navigating them can be a headache, and decision fatigue quickly triggers procrastination.

We can help you discover what you need and hold your hand as you put it in place.

The emotional barrier

What if you can’t do this? What if it’s not good enough? Why is everyone else making progress, but you’re stuck spinning your wheels?

It’s so easy to feel guilt and shame about procrastinating on your vision and to beat yourself up for your perceived flaws and failures.

We can help you navigate your emotional landscape with greater understanding, relief, and self-compassion.

The technical barriers often trigger feelings of shame. The emotional barriers and beliefs stop us from exploring tech solutions. We can help you overcome both.

Hello, we’re Anya and Matthew.

Between us, we have a wealth of knowledge and lived experience of feeling frustrated over the gap between our potential and our output. We are both neurodiverse and “twice exceptional” (gifted and different). We have “spiky profiles”, which means we’re strong in areas that are rare and comparatively weak in others that are commonplace.

Our individual backgrounds and experiences in both psychology and technology mean that we’re uniquely placed to address the twin challenges facing those we encounter.

Anya Pearse MAPP is a positive psychology practitioner, writer, and coach who helps positive changemakers transform their presence into positive impact.

She provides the “missing link” between why caring for yourself is so important when caring for others, and encourages self-compassion, psychological flexibility, and mindful action.

She writes and facilitates at The Happy Startup School, and writes content for workplace well-being trainer Haptivate.

Matthew Bellringer MBCS MBPsS is a facilitative consultant, speaker and author. They work with neurodiverse people to build the support they need so they can get their amazing talents out into the world.

Alongside their private practice, they are Chair and co-founder of NeurodiverseIT, within BCS, the Chartered Institute of IT, and co-founder of Curious Being, a community for unconventional people who want to make their world a better place.
